Oregon! we have no sales tax. A very high minumium wage, 7.50 hour. Fairly low cost of living. Portland is a good place if you like the city, or there are lost of smaller cities around Portland that are nice as well.. Portland is only an hour away from the beach and an hour away from the mountains. We have all four seasons, and mild weather. It does rain but not as much as you think. Great schools, lots of Culture. I live in Salem the capitol, I have lived here my whole life. I love it. it's a smaller town about a hour from Portland. Good luck!

good now, each and every person is a minority in California. And ordinarily, no person cares approximately interracial couples, even in my journey in a particularly rural section. I grew up in a smallish city this is demographically equivalent to maximum primary Valley cities, which tend to be extra value-effective. the main significant cultural divide thus is between Spanish audio equipment and everybody else. I knew many mixed race people starting to be up, and so some distance as i comprehend they did no longer have the topics of suffering to slot in with the two the white teenagers or the black teenagers like I even have heard of happening in different states. There are so few black people interior the agricultural areas (under 10% of CA inhabitants, and customarily concentrated in city areas like l. a. and Oakland), so a minimum of at my intense college there wasn't an all black clique or something. From my awareness, the smaller cities interior the mountains are very white and homogenous, yet i don't have direct journey residing there. CA is amazingly high priced. the main suitable colleges and lowest crime expenditures are in high priced areas. Going extra low-value potential extra crime, worse colleges, and/or a loss of jobs. looking on your budget, you will possibly no longer have many techniques as pupils. And there are a number of community colleges, so which you have a great sort of techniques. I propose looking interior the first Valley, this is particularly extra low-value with the aid of fact of a loss of jobs and warm summer season climate. There are some small CCs in mountain cities like Weed and South Lake Tahoe, which may be well worth looking into.

-Lexington, KY: Clean, (mostly) safe city, but not really all too friendly. Good school system, though, and the city is surrounded by beautiful horse farms.
-I'd raise a family in Austin or San Antonio, personally. They're still (mostly) safe with good school systems and an abundance of great educational institutions in the immediate area.

Pittsburgh, PA, is a great place to raise a family. We have the amenities of a big city - lots of jobs, culture, sports, tons of hospitals and colleges, etc. - yet we also have the benefits of small-town America - low crime, city pride, low drug problems, good schools, geographically small, etc.

Reader's Digest named us one of the top five places to raise a family. Please check us out!
