Wow where to start?
First of all, to be racist, one must have the power to,or engage in the act of, opress(ing) the said group of people. Is he opressing black women by calling us stinky, no therefore it is a prejudice statement, not a racist one.
Now that I've gotten that out of my system, to answer your question most don't smell funny ,it may just be that most of the black women you have encountered were smelly. Keep in mind
that placing all people of any group together and saying they all behave, look or smell a certain way is stereotyping.
I don't understand why everyone is coming down so hard on cyanne2ak she is obviously an ignorant, sheltered women who doesn't have the common sense that God gave a door nob. She was most likely commenting, and I'm assuming the questioner to,on her expirience with African women. In some afican cultures, the do not use deodorant and prefer to go natural. This can cause some to smell.
On the hair comment,Black refers to a desendent of an African not someone who is from africa.Blacks are by far the most physically diverse race on the planet, meaning that not all of us can wash our hair, and most of us don't,once a month. The longest that I've ever heard of is every 2 weeks. I happen to have a very curly hair texture,do to the amount of racial mixing in my family, and I wash my hair about once a week. My hair ALWAYS smells nice, and I have been told this many times before,so don't go judging everyone by what you've seen in a few people.

It's very simple chemistry. You're white, and they're not, and the two very different anatomies look so differently because they area very different. So they may smell "funny" to us just as we may smell "funny" to them. If you haven't seen the movie "Dances With Wolves" you've missed the perfect comparison between whites and American Indians which was in the script in the early part of the movie where the Indians are in their tent / teepee or whatever, and they're trying to decide what to do with this new white intruder into their region, and one of them clearly states something like, "They (the white people) even smell bad". So it's real simple. God made different races of people through different "chemistry" if you will, and, ergo, they smell different to each other. Whether you call it "funny" or "ugly" is up to you, but the olfactory difference is very clear. And NO, YOU'RE NOT BEING RACIST. You're being very observant and straightforward and brave enough to ask such a compelling question that so many of us have in our life, but so EXTREMELY FEW, such as yourself, are BRAVE ENOUGH to ask such a "politically incorrect" question as you did. The others are democrats, aka: liberals, and too chicken to ask questions, whether they're black or white, or mexican or asian or whatever else. In addition to the "creative chemistry" that God used to make us, our different bodies and "cultures" require or urge us to use different chemicals we find at the stores to make ourselves smell the way we want or look the way we want, and so, again, the different smell. Also, our different "cultures" direct us to like certain smells and not like others, so we enhance those that we like and diminish those we don't. So, there's a quick review of the many reasons why you think black women smell different. I dated a couple of black women several decades ago, and I know first hand what you know. I truly liked both of them, and one of them smelled in a way that I didn't prefer, but it was no obstacle for us. The other seemed to have no different smell, and so, that, too, was no obstacle for us. And they never said I smelled, whether I did or not, so . . . we had good times for a while . . . not necessarily meaning sexual times, just to head off any straying minds who might read this. Have a great day, and God Bless you.

How can you post such a racist questions and then say your not being racist. You wouldn't have added the "not being racist " bit if you didn't know it was going to sound that way.....
And I've been around alot of black women and they didn't smell funny to me!!

Isn’t that ironic? The joke sometimes heard in the black community is that white people smell like wet dogs…NOT FUNNY HUH?!?!? We all know that some folks (black, white, yellow, green or orange) smell because they don’t take care to use proper hygiene. Don’t perpetuate the ignorance, ask an intelligent question and get an intelligent answer!

Racist or not. We are all geneticaly different but whith in a race there are similarities, like skin color , body composition, and also body odor. Also may i add that you might smell funny to some people with out knowing. So remember that.

The racist was the one who said blacks are taught not to bathe everyday or wash their hair everyday. Are you stupid or just ignorant. Our culture does not teach us not to bathe daily- dummy. Blacks are the cleanest group of people out there. As far as hair washing, we don't have to wash our hair everyday like you do because our hair doesn't get oily, and stinky, and dirty, and disgusting to the point that it has to be washed- dummy. And black women get their hair done more than once a month- again you have us confused with your race.

How many Afro-American women in the world do you know? Have you met them all to say "Smell Funny"? Are you stupid or desperate for points; and wake-up the game is over.
