If you get this early on (first 8-12 weeks), this could be the egg implanting in the uterus. You could have spotting for 1-4 days. If this is any later discuss this with your doctor. If you have bright red spotting, call the doctor right away and discuss all of the details. Most of the time both are normal for that person, but only your doctor can say for sure.

I am guessing you are in your first trimester? I am 16 weeks pregnant with our third child and with this pregnancy only I did have a very light brownish discharge. I noticed it when I wiped, but never in my undies. I had it from about week 4 through week 9 and then it ended. My certified nurse midwife made an appointment for an ultrasound and everything was just fine. The funny thing was the day I had the u/s done was the very last time I had the spotting. Figures. My CNM said the spotting could have been from the cervix changing, blood volume increasing...just about anything
It is a good idea to let your doc or midwife know that it is happening so they can have a better idea of what is going on with your pregnancy.

depends on how far along you are, if you've just had an internal exam at a doctor's appointment or if you've just had sex. If you are in your 3rd trimester, then it usually means that you are starting to dilate and the blood vessels that were on your cervix are no longer there, and they have to go somewhere, so they come out! Sex can cause you to spot a little also, no big deal though. Generally, if the discharge stays brown and doesnt turn bright red and goes away then you're fine. If it starts to turn bright red, then you have a problem and see your doctor right away!!!

A lot of people experience light spotting. Depending on where you are in your pregnancy it could be nothing to worry about. If you are early in your pregnancy it could be your body just getting used to its changes.
If you are later in your pregnancy it could be from the baby dropping.
If there are large amounts, cramps/contractions or pains or any other concerns contact your doctor right away!

Yeah- esp in the early weeks,, I had it around 7 weeks or so.. they called it part of 'implantation bleeding' (if u are past the 1st trimester though- I would really check it out!)

At the beginning the brown stuff is implantation bleeding...If you are still getting it later on, you may want to check with your Dr, because there may be a problem
