Seriously be yourself. If you feel you don't need/want to use the products then don't. It's good to make an effort but it's great if you feel comfortable in your own skin...i wish i did.
When you go out and you have to dress up you'll look amazing and your friends will just look ordinary.
I thinks lads are more attractive to natural girls but you also don't wanna look like a dog.
Have a day when you practice doin your hair and make-up. I think using staighteners takes a bit of getting used to anyways.
When i was at school one of my friends didn't wear any mk-up, it's because she didn't feel she needed it, to tell you the truth people probably don't even notice
Remember be yourself, don't change for no-one. I think people will respect you more and maybe you'll stand out more ;-)

First of all, be yourself, not what your friends want you to be. I too have never been a make up and hair person, but that doesn't make you less of a person. I tried to be radical one day and went to a new salon for a new look - I ended up with shocking red hair that I had to cut immediately and couldn't wait to get back to my normal self!! However, I have learnt that a visit to the hairdressers once in a while if there's a special function I am going to has helped me. Some hairdresser's just look at you and they know what style would suit you without transforming you drastically. Why don't you try that out and see how it feels? If you want to know more, buy hair and beauty magazines and read up - then you might just shock your friends about what they think they know! Don't be sad honey, you are absolutely ok!

If they really were your friends and know how you feel about this, they would help you. Maybe they don't know you feel this way. Maybe you should have a sleepover one night, invite them all over and give each other makeovers. It's a great way to learn how they do their hair & makeup and I'm sure they could give you pointers. If you are too old for that, get everyone together and set up an Avon or Mary Kay makeover party. If all else fails, the makeup counters in the mall (Dillards, for example) can give you free pointers. This is also a great idea for prom night makeup

Don't change! I'm not a girly-girl like my friends are. I wear some make-up, but some of my friends put so much of the crap on their face is a different color from their necks. Most men I know like a more natural woman, plus if you're too made-up for every day occasions, guys are going to think you're high maintainence and that's a turn off for most. Just be glad that your mind isn't occupied with the new eye shadow Cover Girl has, and stay yourself.

Don't change. If they're really your friends then they'll love you just the way you are.
You could experiment with a little make-up if you feel like it. Some mascara, lip gloss.
Why not see if any of your friends are interested in anything else? Music, movies etc. Or join a club and make new friends. You don't have to stop hanging out with your current friends, but friends with similar interests to yours would make a nice change.

Never change to try and be like someone else, it justt wouldn't be the real you, if they are real friends then you could ask one of them to jus give you some guidance regards make up and things, but there are also courses you can do which don't cost a lot of money but just be yourself then you find out who your real friends are its what's inside that counts.
So the next time your out with them don't feel stupid hold your head high and feel proud of yourself because you don't have to copy all the rest your one of the different ones so be proud of it.

No problem with you like feeling as a stupid, except that you have an inferiority complex and don't have self confidence in you. Forget abot any type of feeling when among them. Try to gain confidence in yourself and you will find yourself as one of the honoured person amongs your friends and having no feeling of stupidity. Start right now. If you still feel some inferiority complex while amongst them, change your friends, preferably your juniors, amongst whom you can build up your confidence level.

Be yourself.
Just because your friends have nothing better to talk about, it doesn't mean you have to "dumb down" just to fit in.
I know that teenage girls are very much into their bodies and making them attractive, but the hair and make-up products are not the only conversation subject on earth.
Don't feel stupid - obviously you have other interests than that, so try introducing those into the conversations.

Get some magazines for your age.. thats how I learned to do make up and stuff like that. Don't go buying cosmppolitan an marie claire though, they are too old for you and won't have the kind of thing you are looking for.
