I don't know if it is illegal to DATE or KISS as you mentioned. There wasn't much on the internet about that. However, it is illegal to have sex or get married until you are an adult which is 17 or 18 in Missouri.

There are reasons why it is morally wrong and socially unacceptable for people with this age difference to hook up. The 13 year old is unable to consent sexually, which is the ultimate goal of dating...marraige and sex. Therefore, dating a 13 year old or being the 13 year old is jumping the gun so to speak. The 13 year old is not an adult, is not mature in the ways required to make decisions of this nature, and should still be in school. With that in mind, the 13 year old should not even be dating yet. US culture considers 13 to be a time when kids go to dances, group dates, and other practice dating with their peers. A twenty year old has been an adult for 2-3 years and is way more experienced and way more mature than a 13 year old. There's a huge differnce between a college age person who should be working and dating adults their own age, and a 13 year old still in middle school!

WHY would a psychologically and physically healthy 20 year old even want to date a 13 year old. If sex is the answer, I'd be frightened of the 20 year old and feel sorry for the 13 year old. They're both stretching WAAAYYYY beyond healthy psychological parameters, even if just for the hoped-for fun of sex. The 20 year old ought to "know better" and the 13 year old obviously doesn't and is being very mislead. Get away from each other. It's a very unhealthy combination. God Bless you both!!

Just because it's in Missouri does not mean it's cool to do!!!! What's wrong with the 20 year old? Can't find someone his own age (assuming the 20 year old is a guy)? It's sick and wrong and someone's parents should break out the shotgun!!

yes it is illegal. It's really sick that a man would want to be with a child. Don't you watch dateline NBC. Watch it. These guys go to jail. If you like him and he likes you then at least wait till you are 16. But by then he will be 23 and probably have kids with someone else. If he doesn't already. REALITY CHECK!!!!!!!! HE ONLY WANTS YOU FOR ONE THING.
If he is so great then why doesn't he have a girlfriend his own age. Because girls his age already know he's a douche bag. Do yourself a favor and run as far away from him as possible. I mean he'll be going to the bars next year. Then we'll see how much he likes you.
Focus on school and get an education.

Dating is one thing, but it's illegal AND wrong for a man over 18 to have sex with a girl under 18. I'd suggest the girl wait until she's old enough before having any kind of sexual relations with an older guy.

I hope it's illegal.
1. It's easy for someone that is twenty one to find a date (Unless they are fat and useless drunks)
2. The thirteen year old is a kid with potential and a future; don't ruin that
3. The thirteen year old is probably the coolest kid in school for kissing a twenty year old
4. The twenty year old is the biggest loser at their university. He/she also needs treatment for dating a prepubescent adolescent.
Leave the thirteen year old alone and find someone around 19-22.

The laws aren't around dating-- they're around sexual intercourse, including oral, anal, vaginal sex and sexual touching. In Missouri, because the one person is under 14 (the age of consent) this is actually considered CHILD sexual abuse, not statutory rape. That should tell you something... what business does a 20 year old man or woman have kissing a child in a sexual way????

why in the hell would a 20 year old want to date a 13 year old? thats just freaking pathetic.........u have women throwing their stuff at men everyday all day and a 20 year old has nothing better to do than to molest a 13 year old girl/boy.......?

yes, "dating" a 13 year old involves behavior (hugs and kissing) that is considered as "contributing to the delinquency of a minor" and if ANY sexual conduct (fondling, groping, ect) is part of the dating, it'll get you 20 years in the pen, branded as a child molester for the rest of your life.
