Any lead acid battery will sulphate when left discharged for more than a couple of weeks, after a month, its pretty much toast. Sealed batteries are no different. there are some specialised batteries that can last longer but not usually found on motorcycles.

Aunt Bea says an Interstate MC battery would last her 3 yrs on a fully loaded 39 Flatty.
