Yes, I do. The government expects people to survive so pay wages that we can survive on! When I was in the 9th grade, minimum wage went from $3.85 to $4.25. I've seen it rise slowly since, & I believe it's about $6.75 here in California. You can't live on that, even if 2 parents are working for the same amount, especially after taxes.

Why should it? From what I hear most places are paying higher already. Even McDonalds in my area is paying $6 to $7 dollars to 16 year old employee's. If McDonalds you can get a higher paying job there, why work for someone who pays less?
Do you know what will happen if the minimum wage is increased? Some businesses will fail due to the higher cost of payroll, if all they can afford is minimum wage employees. Others will pass on the payhike to the consumers, which means everyone pays more. Do you want to pay an extra $.15 per gallon of gas so that the cashier at the Qwicky-Mart gets a higher hourly rate?
The thing is, there are jobs out there which require little or no prior training or experience that pay more than minimum. I feel the problem is that a lot of these jobs don't appeal to people who would rather have an easy job.
If you think I don't know what I am talking about, think again. I spent two years at McDonalds myself, earning nickle and dime raises every 6 month's or so, going from $3.35/hr to $3.70/hr in that time frame, and all while going to school to enable myself for a better job.

the government would desire to have not have been given any say by any potential on wages. Your pay would desire to be desperate between you and your enterprise. in case you ask for too plenty, the enterprise can be sure to no longer hire you. If the enterprise won't pay adequate (what many call a "living salary") you could look for artwork with somebody else. the tip outcomes of increasing minimum salary are inflation and extra beneficial unemployment between those on the backside of the pay scale. think of in the event that they raised the miniumum salary to $one thousand according to hour. people who did no longer understand how economics artwork would think of "Oh goodie, i circulate to be prosperous!" till they have been laid off because of the fact their enterprise could no longer handle to pay for to pay them that plenty.

Yes I do because everything else it seems is increasing. If someone tried living on the national min. wage without any assistance...it would be very hard.
