The Master Chief is going to travel back in time thousands of years to stop the creation of the halo rings, or stop it from being activated the first time. I know this sounds a little odd, but i am 100% sure. If you payed attention to the first game, you would know why. In the scene when you are in the library and you appear in the room with the giant hologram of the ring, you are talking to 343 guilty spark. Before you activate halo, cortana appears and tells you what happens when you activate halo. It wipes the galaxy clean of all humans and covenant so that the flood starves to death. Once the Master Chief finds this out, he asks 343 guilty spark if it is true. It says that it is. These are the exact word used in that cut scene.

Oracle- But you already knew that, i mean, how couldnt you?

Cortana- left that little detail didnt he?

343 guilty spark- We have followed out brake containment procedures to the letter. You were there each step of the way as we managed this crisis

Cortana-Chief, I am picking up movement.

343 guilty spark- Why would you hesitate to do what you have already done?

Cortana- We need to go right now.

343 guilty spark- Last time you asked me "if it were my choice, would i do it?" Having had considerable time to ponder your theory, my answer has not changed. there is no choice, we must activate the ring.

Now, none of this is made up go to the "Two Betrayals Intro" Cutscene in Halo 1. This is what he said. This obviosly means that 343 guilty spark has met the Master chief a long time ago. And also, when the Master chief first appears in the room, he is looking around like he recognizes the place. 343 guilty spark then asks him if something is wrong. and he says no, nothing. If you dont believe me, you can download the video off of the halo cutscene library, or you can just go back to that level in halo.

Halo 3 has already been confirmed. The story will continue with the fight for the human race. I am sure at this point in the war many of the human forces are gone so it will be tough on the Master Cheif. He will end up having to go it alone or along side a small army.

There is a Halo 3 and it will be realesed in 2007. you can read it at Bungie.net. In Halo 3, as always master cheif has once againg risen to destroy all bad forces of covenent. Chief is going to the deep sands of the african desert to find out what has gone wrong when the covenent have found out something horrible. Now Cheif and his side army will destroy all bad forces once and for all. This will be the final battle and the final game.
