I am sick of seeing England flags on cars all over the country at the moment. I wish England would get knocked out of the World Cup just to get rid of them! I see them littering the roads, where they have come off the cars, and I hate driving behind someone with them on their car, because I am worried they will fly off and hit my windscreen. Have these caused an accident yet, and will anyone ban them? Am I alone in finding them too moronic for words?

Noooo, far from being alone. Suddenly during football season everyone's an ambassador? Gimme a break. Think the government might be a little busy banning smoking in every single conceivable place to get around to focusing on the flags though, and England'll be out soon. Rest assured, the nightmare's nearly over.

I read somewhere that the flags are nothing to do with the World Cup or England's presence in it.
It is part of a scheme by the Department of Health to monitor the size of the driver's Manhood. Any male driver with less than 4 inches is asked to fly one flag and anyone with less than 3 inches is asked to fly two flags. The census is due to finish on the 9th July.
Unfortunately the Department of Transport was running a name and shame campaign in which drivers of any sex who were deemed unsafe were required to have a white flag (for one conviction) with a warning red cross on it and two warning signs for subsequent convictions, earlier on in the year and this seems to have overlapped.

No you are sooooo not alone....i too am sick and tired of this whole 'england patriotism' thing..not just the flags but the whole issue...why is it that the country only decides that it is patriotic when the world cup comes around or some other sporting event...shouldnt we be patriotic all the time?

You're stupid - get over it. Everybody represents their country. What's your problem? It's not just England fans that have flags. All countries are represented. Why are you blaming English fans? Those flags are not big enough to obstruct view - duh!!! If they were they would be banned. I love seeing the flags on cars it's fun to see everybody be proud of their teams.

other bad car sign themes i hated and wanted to rip the stuff off folks cars:
baby on board ( so what )
american flags hanging out of folks side windows ( just looked silly)
ribbon magnets to support the troops ( that supported no one but the manufactor and china- where they were made)
ball/bullet that looked like it cracked the windshield

i'd prefer to ascertain a better everyday ban. in case you prefer to perceive a chav, seem for the flags. as well, many of the flags flown were on the vehicles for far to lengthy, and now seem as if dirty rags, which isn't the acceptable thanks to illustrate help for our footballers.
