I am having the same problem. I took that hard drive out and connected it to the computer so its not the hard drive. You should do the same. It may be the CPU or my motherboard.
How old is your computer? Mine is about 6 years old....

After opening up your computer and making sure that your harddrive is connected properly, and all wires are secure, boot into the BIOS (usually tapping F10 will work, but it depends on your computer and the manufacturer) and ensure that your computer even see's your harddrive. If it doesn't, than you probably have a faulty cable somewhere.

Well, since the computer boots primarily off the hard drive, you're screwed big time, unless you have a boot disk made up.
