not all the apes share the same amount of genes than humans, otherwise, it would mean that they probablyu have the same genes between themselves, and then why would they look so different? :-D
Anyway, as far as I know, the Orangutan is supposed to be the closest ape to human. They are very intelligent, developped and use tools like humans do, and it has even been provenin the 90's that they have they own culture.

if you look at it closley, according to evelution, we became very much like present day humans(chimps) then became less like ourselves (apes are dummer and don't walk on 2 legs much) then became ourselves, meaning we went back and forth on the physical scale. or you can do it the other way around and say we went back and forth on the genetic scale, either way, this makes evelution look stupid

I think you mean apes, which would include Chimpanzees and Gorillas, and I think our DNA is similar up to that point.
