How can you find out what career is good for you? I was thinking about criminal justice but the salary stinks.

I'm interested in criminal justice/forensic science. I actually found a college but i was looking the other day to see the annual income for a forensic scientist and i found out that the income is about 30000 dolars (which is really bad). I want to find a career that is interesting and offers me new things every single day. (and also pays a good salary) I'm really confused and i have so little time to think about what i want. :((

Choose a career that you would enjoy doing even if you weren't getting paid for it. Finding a well paying career that you get bored with day in and day out will pale in comparison to a career that might pay a little less, but you enjoy doing.

just because you choose criminal justice doesn't mean you cannot make money. the avg. starting salary for a college grad is only 30-35,000. criminal justice is a very broad field with a lot of opportunities. try talking with your career development center of your college. some even offer tests that can show you where your best attributes lie.

If your going to be doing something for years and years, its going to have to be something you ENJOY doing. Then again, obviously salary is going to play a big roll in what you choose, so if the salary really is terrible but you love doing it, then go for it and just marry a rich guy :P jk
But maybe there are similar jobs involving some of the same kinds of things that you enjoy that do pay better?

There's a few things you can do with a criminal justice degree. Become a police officer (my husband is & he makes more than 30K/yr), or accident investigation, to name a couple.

You have plenty of time. Go to college undecided and figure it out along the way. The majority of freshman who actually have majors when they start change them anyway.
