what is their plan for all of the babies that would be born to parents that either cannot or will not care for them or for the welfare systems that already cannot handle the amount of needy kids out there as it is now? This is serious question that I've always wondered.

Jeebus, like he takes care of all of the children in the world now? Are you serious?

I do want to add that I am prolife for myself, but I believe abortion is necessary because just because it is logical to not have unprotected sex before you're able to deal with the consequences, that is obviously not a true solution or abortion rates would not be so high. People are still going to make mistakes, what do we do then? THAT'S my question.

Obviously, those with such conviction to protest at clinics and such really just blow hot air as I have not seen any logical solutions from any of them yet.

Levi, I suppose your perfect huh? Never made a mistake in your life? I ask the question because I truly wanted to see if there was anyone with a real solution. BTW, it is not only promiscuous people who get into trouble. And do you remember the women who died when abortion WAS illegal?

It is simple: there is no viable plan. They prattle about adoption, ignoring that there are nowhere nearly enough elegible homes out there for all the little ones that would need placement. They also prattle about forcing the birth parent(s) to care for the unwanted children - another totally impractical option. But see, these are Christians! They can't see the world through any other lens except their own wildly distorted ones. They don't want to; that would mean they have to think, and to accept that not all their fellow humans are as free, as capable and as just plain lucky as they are! Tell ya what: the ever get their way and abortion is outlawed, they'll make yours truly a wealthy man!

This was covered by Jonathan Swifts "A Modest Proposal", a satirical essay on population pressures.

I too once asked this question, and received several answers. First was the idea that the number of prevented abortions would not be large enough to cause any problems. Another thought was that the abortions would no longer be done under ideal conditions by trained professionals (back alley abortions) but would still continue as they have for several centuries. Others think the system will collapse.

Most people never even thought about it beyond thinking that this was someone elses problem. Quite a few people replied that God would provide...which is tantamount to saying "I do not know, nor do I care. It's the mothers and Gods problem now" in my opinion.

It's not to the responsibility of the pro lifers to ensure that children can be taken care of. It's to the stupid people that jump into the sack and don't want to be burdened with having a kid so they kill it. If abortion was illegal and no longer an excuse for people to be idiotically promiscuous then maybe we wouldn't have so many teen pregancies and such.

So to pin this on someone who values life in utero, and out, is wrong when it's ultimately the responsibility of the people who by means of indiscretion get themselves in that mess. Maybe it will wake some people up and they'll stop sleeping around so much or fess up to the consequences of their promiscuous life style.

While it's true that many children do not get adopted those are the older children. Many couples can not have their own and what to adopt these newborns though. The waiting list for adopting them is high. Abortion is murder and people having them should be on trial for them just as they are for murdering any one else. Watch the learning channel on TV about the new things they have found out about the development of the human fetus. When you go before the judgment bar in heaven and the Lord asks you why you did it no answer will be good enough and your shame will be great, and I believe the punishment will be also.

If people knew as every animal on planet earth knows, that when the conditions for child rearing are not adequate, you simply don't reproduce. The best way to get that point across is to make everyone responsible for their actions, as is the case in nature. In the short run, there may be a slight increase in illegitimate child births. In the long run, the culture changes, the act of reproducing becomes a serious indeavor again, and illegitate child births decrease.
There should be no welfare. Sometimes people are unlucky. Its part of life. Thankfully, there are many millions of people out there like yourself, who are more than willing to help out the less fortunate - voluntarily. No one has a right to force someone else to pay for somebody elses bad luck. On the other hand, we should expect people as a society to care for one another...voluntarily. Voluntary charity should be praised....forcing people to give away their earnings for the sake of another's misfortune should be abhorred.

It really is simple. Observe mother nature and maybe you'll get it.

I don't believe they truly have a plan, just a cause that gives them a reason to protest. I don't agree that EVERYONE should be able to have an abortion, but there are cicumstances that might warrant it. Such as medical reasons, the possibility of an underage child being raped, and a few others I might be able to cope with.

I strongly beleive that no one can tell another person what they have to do with their body. If a woman is pregnant and doesn't want to be she will find a way -legally or illegally- to not be pregnant anymore. Psychologically speaking children who are born to mothers who don't want them are more prone to psychological disorders and eventually will become a strain on society. Just because some people don't want others to engage in premarital sex -which is a sin - doesn't mean that they can have control of what somebody can or cannot do with their own body. Gluttony is also a sin but that doesn't mean I'm going to hyjack a twinkie truck so no one can eat twinkies anymore. We have a right to our body and freedom to choose so let everyone choose for themselves.

Abortion should be legal until the child is two years old. That would give parents a chance to decide if having children is the best decision...and it wouldn't put an unnecessary burden on the welfare system

i've wondered the same thing...why would people want children brought into the world that people don't want, or can't raise, or don't have the money to raise. There are already too many children in foster homes, no more need to be added to the problem.

it would be very scary. I have always supported abortion. People talk about how the children can be put into adopition agencies. What they don't realize is that most kids don't get adopted as kids, and as they grow older people want to adopt them less and less
