Some schools (including my own) are starting to ban myspace.com and the dean at our school goes on to high schooler's myspaces and can get them suspended for showing just a picture of alcohol or drugs. you can also get in trouble for any sexual innuendos. your thoughts on this???

keep in mind, that students aren't accessing through the school and this is strictly outside of school.
also note: its a parents responsiblity to keep their children off myspace if they dont want them on it.

The only thing myspace is good for is getting stalked. Ban it, ban it, ban it!

Your Dean is correct!!! There is NO REASON for you to go on myspace during school hours. Anyone who is under 21 should not be drinking and doing drugs so there is NO REASON for you to have those things on your profile. ACT YOUR AGE!!! It is irresponsible kids like that that are ruining it for all the adults on myspace. Just this morning on the news I heard of a mother that wanted to sue myspace because her daughter fell prey to a predator online. Parents need to make sure their children are not talking to strangers and kids should know not to talk to strangers in the first place. Use some common sense when online with ANYONE.

Uh, yeah it should be blocked. Myspace has been linked to multiple felony crimes, including (but not limited to) sexual acts with minors. Furthermore, alcohol has no place in the schools, and drugs even less so. However, showing a pic of them shouldn't get you suspended (1st Amendment rights come in here).
I will say, however, that if you *must* use myspace, then you can use what's called a proxy to get through. Ask you school's tech guru kid (they all seem to have a few).

I think MySpace.com should be banned from all schools. The Dean of your school shouldn't be suspending you for what you have under MySpace.com. It your thing and you should be able to put whatever you want to put under there. As long as it is blocked from being accessed at school, you should not get suspended, and should be free to put whatever you wanto put on it.

This made me chuckle after I study it because each body continuously talks about how 'abstinent' Twilight is. My moms and dads in no way banned issues for me. If i really had to study or watch some thing they permit me. all the did became verify i did not have get precise of entry to to three express stuff. So i'm antagonistic to colleges doing this. i imagine that is truly as a lot because the moms and dads, no longer the colleges. If colleges do not pick young ones to study Twilight in simple terms precise is to entice any interest to it, etc. yet i imagine attempting to limit young ones from bringing Twilight to school is ridiculous. There are books available that are worse for little ones than Twilight (ignoring the actual undeniable actuality that that is lots of the more severe literature available) that is common to argue that this e book would provide young ones some incorrect recommendations of how relationships note (like Edwards dismantling of the vehicle engine to save Bella from seeing Jacob) yet i imagine that for little ones in instantly ahead college those recommendations do not practice. i imagine that is as a lot because the moms and dads to come back to a decision and once the little ones attain center college i imagine that is going to be as a lot as them.

They are within their right to prevent students from accessing it from computers on school property, but I believe it's a violation of the first amendment if students are forbidden from having pages on myspace that they access on their own time, especially if it's a public school and they have their parents' consent.

For sure...they should block it out. Put a filter on the network to prevent that...I can't believe how bad that site is. Too easy to get in to trouble for the younger crowd...sorry.
