You really just have to tell him straight up. If for some reason he thinks you don't care, then you really need to show him that you do. Just have a normal conversation with him and just tell him. It's really good to know that someone does care and it won't sound stupid at all.

just by saying it wont help , guys r not like girls. show it with ur actions and attitude. dont say hurting stuff and listen and make his life comfortable just as a caring person would- so be natural if u really do care :-)

just let him know yr always going too be there for him
as a friend or what ever its always good too know there's a friend you can count on so I'm sure he'll love 2 hear that
