Yes they usually are pretty difficult to change they require alot of Patience as well as special tools and possibly a heat gun..... There are some pretty sensitive parts on the Samsung phones and you could damage it easily if you dont know what your doing... http://www.2valor.com/Service/service.asp?id=1
here is a link that will offer some insight on how to change faceplates on various phone models I didn't see the x495 listed but.. maybe it will give you some ideas.. let me know if you want anything from that website.. they only sell to resellers..

It is very difficult to change. I tried changing the faceplate of my phone, but it didn't work. So I give up.

No most of the time, they just snap on and off. You can always go by your cell phone company provder and find out how to change them if you can figure it out.

Sometimes the store has to do it but sometimes it just slips off
