I love J. Crew jeans, they always fit perfectly, they are a little more expensive than say Gap, but the are so worth it, also I bought a pair of jeans at full price (not on sale)from Banana Republic and they altered them for free. You can go in with the shoes that you want the jeans to go with, and they will measure you right there in your shoes. I think J.Crew does this too.

Armani Exchange Jeans run really long and fit very nicely if you don't have a small waist. They are expensive, but they don't fade a lot and keep looking like new for a long time.

Hot topic or just go to www.hottopic.com I think that's the kind of store you sound like you'd go to.Make sure you don't go to Limited too,because thats for sizes 4-11 in teens or kids and its preppy.

im not sure a place to cover your shoes,
but i get all of my jeans from either American Eagle, or Bluenotes. There comfy and last a long time!

a lot of department stores carry long/tall jeans, i know because my mom is really tall, and she can never find pants long enough. i think JC penny has quite a few longer pants, if i remember correctly.
