And something to consider...Of the 16 million who served, only about 4 million are still alive and veterans from that war are dying at a rate of 1,056 a day. So hug a Vet or say "thanks" today, they might not be here tomorrow.

Also realize this is the generation where women left the home and entered the workplace in non-traditional female roles to run the factories and plants to keep America (and other countries) rolling. This opened the door to the many choices women have today. So hug a "Rosie the Riveter" today. She too, might not be here tomorrow. Little known fact: The woman from the "Rosie the Riveter" painting by Norman Rockwell was Mary Doyle Keefe, almost 80 years now and a grandmother of eleven kids.

WWII generation was the best, but now gen x has to pay for there lack of self control. There kids(baby boomers) are getting old and we are footing the bill for their medicines and retirement. Too many of them and not enough of us.
