don't even waste your time with them. Interoffice atmosphere is no better than high school. people are stupid and act stupid. this worker is probably just retarded and is annoyed that either you don't pay attention to them or not as social as they might be. If the worker is the chatty one of them all, stay the hell away from 'em. these are usually the ones who are the hub of gossip and shady actions within your office. they'll be your friend one minute and then run to the manager to dish out the news. if she thinks you're annoying then screw her. better you not get involved with her kind than give her any ammunition for later on.

You got one of those, huh? Ugh.
There are people in my office that are constantly causing trouble. They are at least 20-30 years older than me, but think that they are in high school.
You need an ally. Not someone to cause trouble with, just someone that thinks the same as you and you can vent to. That is all you can do.
Chances are, she's "one of those" and you are the victim this week. Hang tight .. it'll be someone new next week.

Maybe it is in the way you approach her. If you interrupt while she is talking to someone or on the phone, that can be annoying. One suggestion, try asking her if she is busy and if not could she help you with an issue that has you completely boggled.

Next time she says you are annoying, ask her "What do you mean?". Dont get suckered into having any more conversations with her after that. Just ignore her entirely. If you need to interact with her from time to time and she continues to be like that, talk to whoever your supervisor/manager is about her. Who knows, she may just be retarded.

Speak to your manager or HR department privately and ask them for guidance. Having the situation documented may work to your advantage if the situation does escalate in the future.

go to the source---ask your co-worker exactly how he/she perceives you to be annoying and suggest that whatever is making them uncomfortable about you, you can both work at it to resolve a healthy, respectful relationship. if there is indeed an issue, make an effort to act on it by being honest.

You are some kind of a threat to this person.
Maybe they have a resentment towards you because you aren't paying attention to them. Ahhh!
It's not your day to entertain them.
They sound like a very sad soul.

Welcome to the world of Office Work. For some people every thing and everyone is annoying. Do what are presently doing. You can't win them all. All the best

Ask her what about you annoys her. And either a) how the two of you can fix it. or b) if she can ignore whatever "it" is and act like a professional?
