I came home from work one day to find my landlord had moved into the house I had leased from him. He will not leave and this is causing me and my family much anguish. My wife and children have moved to her parents. What can I do? Please, please help me. Thank you.

If you have a signed lease to occupy the building he CAN NOT occupy it during that time. If he is occupying a section NOT covered in your lease he can legally do so.
Contact your authorities.

Uh, do you have a lease contract? If so, read it. Does it say anywhere that hte landlord can move in? I'd recommend calling the police and an attorney. Call the police about a trespasser. Call the attorney to have everything legal.

Even though he owns the house, he has no right to live there when you have a valid lease saying that you and your family are the ones living there.

Sue the Land Lord!!
Have him evicted by the Police! (Though if you have a lease, he may say, your outta here, but if he is living in the house, then its HIM who should be paying the rent, and not you!).
He isnt allowed to do that. No matter what, he has to get out...or, you stop paying the rent.
And to think, I thought I heard it all...
This is a new one for the books...:)
I wish you well..

That is crazy! I am sure there is recourse. Was there anything in the lease allowing him to do so? If not, he is in clear violation of it. Read it over and then make some calls in your city in regards to groups that help renters/leasers. They are definitely out there. Wow, I have never heard anything so peculiar as that in recent memory.

You can call the police. If you have a valid lease, then your landlord is trespassing and the police will remove him from the property.

That's crazy.Stop paying the rent.Call the housing authority.Call the cops. Why would he think it was alright for him to move into your house? You need to do something about it today. The longer it takes you to do something about it,he's going to think it's ok even more than he already does. The sooner you get rid of him the sooner your wife and kids will come home.Good Luck.

You have a right to sue him for ejectment. You have a leasehold interest that he is in violation of, even though he "owns" the land. You own the right to live there. Get a lawyer today.

Go to your browser....type in your state and then go to "tenant's rights." You may be directed to your state attorney general.
Your landlord sounds like a real jerk.
