I mean how did we become a society controlled and rulled by men, with women not being allowed to vote and being seen as secondary to men? At one point Christian men even debated wether or not women had souls and went to heaven. I dont understand how this actually happened if women are just as intelligent, why didnt they argue with the men and insist on the right to education earlier.

Well, let us take a brief look at history: men fought the wars, women cared for the kids. Men assumed leadership positions, ladies "stood by their men." This goes on for awhile.

First of all, they didn't manage anything. Men used force to take what they want. This was all brought on by FEAR. Check out women in history and you will see the evolution that took place. Many brave and courageous women fought and died for our right to do and say anything in this world. In reality- Men do not control anything. They fight their way through until they get what they want. What we really need is a society that puts to good use the power of Men and Women. If we could use the strength of a Man and the intelligence of a Woman together- we could create a positive place. In reality - we do need one side to submit to the other for anything to get done. I think it should be more of a give and take, but that would be asking for an idealistic society. Life is real , not an ideal.

Obviously you have never heard about the Amazons, a 'gang' of warrior women known in ancient Greece. And you also never learned anything about the Celtic civilization. Many chiefs and rulers were women. The women would be called warrior queens when they went into battle. Women fought in battle right alongside men. There was no dominance except for order and sex. Some women even led pagan rituals. It was the forward-thinking and conquering Romans that changed the rules.

From the very beginning, Mother Eve was made equal to Adam, not his inferior partner. She was not made to walk in Adam's shadow, but to govern the household as equal partners. Eve was never any less intelligent than Adam. She knew full well what she was doing when she took the forbidden fruit. She did not take the fruit naively, as most people suppose. If Eve had not taken the forbidden fruit, NONE of us would be here today. Father Adam followed Eve's example and ate the fruit himself AFTER he realized that Eve's choice was the only way we could exist.

Any changes to this structure were altered by men who followed the teachings of evil people in the world from the beginning.

No man has control over me! Not even my husband!

In the United States, the only people who put any work into the
Constitution were men, so obviously they would put themselves
before their women! But they made it amendable and the rights
of women are now equal to those of men.

In the United Kingdom I don't think men have as much power as
in the States! It's the Queen everybody loves! If it were truely a
world run by men, Prince Charles or Prince William would be the
King right now... But obviously, at least in the UK, society knows
a woman is just as important as a man!

The problem is we don't have enough women who actually justify
their claim to power, like the late Princess Dianna. What we have
in abundance are dim-witted big-breasted celebrities who try their
best to force us back into a male dominated society by confusing
their breast size with social merit! The men love them and so, the
young girls want to be like them. It's all just one big cycle!

If you are one of these celebrities, STOP IT!!! You're not helping!

Firstly society has gone through a lot of shifts,m some ancient civilisations were truly equal in the treatment of men and women, and some such as the Minoans were even considered matriarchal and women held a higher position over men, but were wiped out through war or natural disaster.

My guess is evolution did most of it. Because of childbirth women relied on men to provide them with food and shelter whilst they were pregnant, and then had to rear the children so they couldn't contribute to hunting. However, their position in the home could mean they were the instigators of society, laws and much knowledge was passed down through women that led to the wise-woman stereotype. But if the males were naturally stronger (in the upper arms for throwing and such particulary) they could subjugate women with the threat of force or by denying them their food adn shelter during pregnancy.

In war, the conquered is the one being stabbed.

Anyhow, only in the modern world are women equal. At one time women were fought over in mortal contests and were certainly prey without a male (and the clan's i.e. bonded male's) protection. We are several million years in evolution but only a few hundred years in a more sex balanced social structure. Even today the old ways hold true although things are considerably safer for women in civilized nations. Be it nature or God, it was supposed to be this way. Accept the things you cannot change and make me some pancakes woman (jk).

Women carry the children during pregancy, when breast feeding was the only means to feed babies, only women could do this, thus they took on the role of care giver. extreme feminsists argue that women will never be equal until another way to reproduce is found. women being stripped of their rights happened slowly over a long period of time and appeared justified at the time, education was not compulsory til late 1800's early 1900's and by this time women already had limited power.

Physical dominance initially. Men being able to physically treat women as they wished created an atmosphere that they (we) were better. Also without an education it was not always apparent that women and men were intellectual equals, and many years before that men had already created a society that held women in a lesser state. Thankfully that is almost leveled now.

It was ignorance. A womans job was to stay home, raise the children, and take care of the home. Which in retrospect, society was not as corrupt, or crime was not as high as it is today. I think that children being raised by strangers, are more likely to become confused, because his parents are not the same as their sitters, therefore the parents expect the children to turn out like them, although they did not raise them. Of course exception to this rule will always apply. Women, are just as intelligent, but not as strong, and in the workforce they are paid less due to the fact that they take more days off, and leaves due to pregnancies, and child care. That was the idea behind having me take care of business outside of the nuclear home

With the move from more hunting and gathering societies to more agricultural. The burden of the "heavy" work fell to men and gradually the importance given to that work did as well. The more industrialized a society the more inequality between the sexes.
