I hear you sister....I just got married and am in between jobs. I can say that the internet has definitely become a huge time waster. I think that's also how I ended up here on Yahoo Questions. It's fun at least for awhile. But aside from the internet...how long are you guys posted here? Are there activities planned for the wives? Is there something that you have wanted to learn but never took the time to...well, you could do that now.

Hmm, never been at an army post but these would be my suggestions for any woman sitting at home while her spouse is working:

1) Rent a few movies, buy some popcorn, pig out and watch some tube.
2) Go for a walk (or maybe not a good idea in your case, judging by you got lost) or a job.
3) Find a good book to read, unless army post means somewhere foreign... If that's the case, hope you brought a book along or hope there's an english bookstore somewhere.
4) Umm, go on the computer! Even if you're a grown women, if you're bored I'm sure video games wouldn't be SOO utterly terrifying. A few suggested sites would be:

www.gamerival.com
www.addictinggames.com
or the yahoo games web site.

PS: IN CASE MOST OF YOU GUYS HADN'T NOTICED, SHE'S MARRIED. he-LOOOOOOOOOOO.

Go to the army base office and get a map. Talk to the soldiers and civilian staff on the best routes to get around without getting lost. Ask where the attractions are for shopping, entertainment, etc. Go to the library and ask where the various ladies groups are, depending on your interests. Check the volunteer scene to see where your help may be needed and appreciated. Plant a garden at your home. There are many things to do other than taking a lover in the afternoon or becoming absolutely bored out of your skull. (!) You go, girl!

Research what you're curious about, so you don't have to ask every question here. Pick up various books, and try reading each of them. There is certainly some genre you would like.Don't be afraid to ask whoever is around for help with direction, unless you are in a secluded area...use common sense for that. If you get hopelessly lost, just meditate on your life, and regain focus.

Try going out for a walk. Make sure you take some breadcrumbs or something so you can find your way back. Another option is to find out if there is some kind of community playround or area close by where other people might congregate. You might just make a few friends.

If possible, talk to others who may be in the same situation as you and perhaps make a friend or two. If you can't do that, explore on your own. Find a map online (http://maps.yahoo.com/beta/) if you can. If possible, talk to locals about interesting things in the area. Above all, don't be afraid to find your own way around so you won't get lost again.

If you have a lot of time on your hands, and you have a lot of pictures that are just laying around, scrapbooking is an excellent hobby. The finished product is always very satisfying, and people love looking at them when they visit.

Start scrapbooking, that takes up lots of time. Call a friend or family member. Take a walk up and down the street. Do some baking or cooking.

You know getting lost is the best way to learn your way around. just get yourself a map of the area. and just head out and go get lost on purpose. eventually you will learn your way around. once you get lost a few times and find your way you wont be scared. i promise, good luck
