Probably when your doctor removed the cancer from the stomach, he/she did tests to see if it had spread. So the doctor would be the one to ask this.
Often, after taking out the cancer, doctor's will put you on radiation and chemotherapy for a while to make sure if it did spread, it is killed off.
I know 3 doctors who had the cancer removed and have lived greater than 10 years with no furthur cancer.
Ask your doctor. That is the one who know's the answer to your question!

If all the cancer cells were removed with the surgery followed by radiation/chemoptherapy and being cancer free for 5 years is a positive sign it may not return

Unfortunately, even if you've had the cancerous part removed, it can return. This is true for any cancer. However, with the technology today, survival rates and quality of life after cancer surgery has improved dramatically. My mother-in-law had her breast removed last year because of breast cancer. This was her 2nd bout of it and she's doing fine now.

Yes,because the operation, in itself ,causes cancer cells to be cut free to move around the circularatory system. By maximizing the amount of calcium in your system by the use of supliments, you'l have a chance.

If your obstruction is due to narrowing melting it away would cause melting your stomach. Does that make sense to you? You should seek the opinion form a second or third surgeon.
