I have a watch worth several thousand dollars and want to sell it. What is the best way to do that?

ebay, but make sure u take plenty of good pictures (IE of serial # on back of watch or closeup of dial),and give as much description as possible so that people will know that it is good quality and authentic. and set a reserve amount (the amount that u will take no less than), that way you'll know you'll either get a ball park of how much u want or u won't sell it!

First of all have it professionally appraised-don't tell appraiser you are selling it, tell them it is for insurance reasons.
Second--either put on ebay with a reserve price so that you don't end up loosing money or contact your local auction house (see the yellow pages), both are great ways to get a fair price, pawn shops will not give you the full value and you might regret the loss.

if it's possible i would take it to a well-known jeweler and possibly sell it to them where they can further sell the item to a customer. i don't know if e-bay is the best choice depending on how expensive the watch is. also, maybe take it to a few different jewelers where you can make sure you are getting the right price for it.

E-Bay is the way to go! Take a few digital photos of it and put a nice bid together and see what happens!
