It is scary. I do not know what it is like in your area. But many cities now have schools for pregnant or new teen moms. After I had my first child I went to an alternative school that had a daycare right in it for the teen moms there.
Just do some research and talk to your school counselor.
Also as far as leaving the baby if you have no other options I would go with a daycare center not a home based center. For several reasons we wont get into right now. Research day cares. You can even start that now. Go to the county they usually have a list of day cares that they will help pay for and that are licensed and have met all approval. Ask questions and trust your gut. Its not easy but if you find someone you trust it gets easier!
Katz is incorrect. Most states only require that the baby is 6 weeks old which is just about a month and a half old not three months old. Some require that the baby is 8 weeks old which is about two months old. Most do not go older then that as a general rule though it can vary from day care to day care.

well the first couple of months are crucial between mother and new born, this is the time where the bonds are made and you actually learn to properly care for the baby and see about his/her needs. I don't believe day cares take new born babies for obvious reasons of course i think they wait till they are at least 3 or 4 months old. Why don't you ask a family member, your mother or grandmother someone you trust and has had experience with kids to take care of the baby if you decide to go to school immediately after the baby is born..although that might not be a good idea..you would need to be around the baby as much as possible first couple of months and you would probably realise that it is alot more to it than just dropping them off at daycare for someone else to take care of...good luck

I think you should start visiting daycare centers and checking out the options you have available. Some schools/colleges have daycare centers on campus so you don't have to feel your child is far away from you even. Also, do you have a trusted family member you can count on for times when your child will be feeling ill or feverish? Those are things you need to look into. Best wishes and congratulations =)

you really do not have much of a choice if you will be in school and your best bet if you want to feel more safe with your child with someone else is to either put it in daycare or see if you could pay a family member to watch your child and have you even looked at what daycare costs it is not cheap by any means in north carolina for a baby that is 6 months old with no special needs it would cost me $202 a week i just do not see how you being in school would be able to pay for that

i would suggest taking a baby to a daycare. It's regulated by the state and you don't have as much worry. Most daycares i know will take an infant at 1 month which your child should be because you have six weeks before you should go back to school after your doctor releases you.

Well, you have to think that if you study you will be capable to give your baby a better future. I personally will look for a daycare, because in that place your baby will be stimulated by people with a lot of knowledge. Also, he or she will have time to play with other kids and that's very important for social development. I don´t like nannies, i don´t trust them, so my personal opinion is that going to a day care will be an excellent choice for both of you. By the way congratulations! and for now on, believe me, your life will be a lot better.

You dont have a choice. Most people dont put newborns in daycare and most daycares wont take a newborn. The baby has to be 3 months or older.

Yes. Do your research. Talk to other parents. Visit daycares--just drop in. If they won't show you around without an appointment... keep looking elsewhere. Make a list of what you want/need in a daycare and stick to it until you find it.
Most daycare centers and licensed in home daycares have very strict guidelines to follow and have background checked their employees. Employees must have training yearly and be certified in CPR and first aid as well as sanitation and entertaining and caring for a child.
Best of luck!

You really cant because you dont know how they or who ever is it going to treat your baby. It will be better if you would take care of him for the first months. I know that you dont want to drop out so just go to adult school, I really dont know what is your situation but don't give you newborn baby to anyone.

I see how you feel because you can think other people taking care of your child they might kidnap your child or beat your child at babysitting what about a family member because your education is important
