Madonna - because she actually wrote most of her own songs.
Don't get me wrong... The others are great entertainers, but not as musically well-rounded as Madonna. (Although maybe well-rounded in other areas!)

I think it goes something like this in my mind:
Kelly Clarkson - Awesome Performer (singer)
Madonna - Awesome Performer (singer, dancer and actress) + creative
Beyonce - BEST ALL AROUND - Fairly Good Performer (actress) + Incredibly awesome entertainer (singer and dancer)
Mariah Carey - Best Unknown.

Mariah is the only one that can sing, Kelly is ok I guess but Madonna and Beyonce can't sing a lick.

In terms of their singing voice, I'd have to go for mariah carey. she produces great music, despite the clothing that she wears and some of the outrageous clips she has had
