Yes. Penguins appear to have very short legs and no knees because only the lower leg is externally visible. Their knees and upper legs are feather covered, hiding them from view. This also means that penguins never get cold knees!

Penguines, huh? Well, for those of you who don't know, "penguines" are another name for penguins who stand at the shore whining about how cold the water is.

As to whether or not they have knees - nobody really knows; they won't jump in the water and swim over to the camp where we pull them out of the water, lay them out of cold steel tables and examine the wildlife to answer questions like this.

A friend of mine got tired of our military rations once, though and fried up a penguine he caught. I remember that for dinner, there were some breasts, a back and a weird piece of meat we called, "the trunk," but I don't remember seeing any wings or legs on the table.

Ummm... Actually they do have knees. Penguins appear to have very short legs and no knees because only the lower leg is externally visible. Their knees and upper legs are feather covered, hiding them from view.

you're the one who asked the "who believes the earth is round" question. or should i say "eart" and "penguines" is spelled "penguins". penguins do have knees, but they are very obscure.

yes but they don't look like normal human knees. Did you know that dogs have thighs? Animals just aren't built like humans so though many have the same parts as we do they are in different locations.

Yes, though they face rearward, as most birds' knees do. The knees just aren't visible under their feathers

No. That explains why they waddle. I believe they have a joint there but no knee joint.
