green is the mixture of the visible primary colors blue and yellow. green is also a secondary color. the visible spectrum of light is actually every color blended together in a stream of white. the color green reflects the colors blue and yellow, but absorbs red so green is the only visible color. in theory, a green wall under a red light may look like it is black.
