I agree hands down with you. He influenced the influencers. There would be no Pet Sounds or White Album without him. He totally started in with the introspective lyrics that became a standard throughout the classic rock genre. In his early career he very nearly killed the folk music scene cause he went electric. One person, kill an entire movement? That influence. Just think of all the people who have covered his songs to gain fame. The man is a living legend and I heard a rumor he has a new album on the way- score!

It would most definitely be Bob Dylan.
but since you say you already know that I suppose I should include some others... let's see Lennon and McCartney are an obvious. Paul Simon of course! Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Roger Waters would probably be my first choice though... His solo albums weren't just wonderful but when he was with Pink Floyd... Yeah just listen to those lyrics on Dark Side of the Moon and the Wall... hell check out every Floyd album with his writing credits.

Bob Dylan. He inspired so many others and worked so many others. He's wrote so many songs that other people get famous off of. Like Hendrix and All Along the Watch tower. He's defintely the best forget about the stupid Beatles, all their songs were the same...sorry fans out there but... just stating the obvious.

Bob Dylan, no question. Even John Lennon was in awe of him, and Springsteen has said he is a major influence..

Gotta go with Dylan, although Springsteen comes to mind as well.

Even the Beatles were influenced by Dylan, as was Bruce.

Michael Stripe. Everything that comes from that man's lips are very profound. Even "Shiny Happy People."
