Wow, how many hits did he get? Sorry to hear that. You have a bit of an exhibitionist on your hands. It does not mean necessarily that he would cheat. It just may mean that he is kinky and doesn't think you would approve of it, so he's taking it out into an arena that he felt could appreciate or not. Just putting it out there probably gave him a rush. Getting caught may have too, I don't know. How kinky are you? Maybe you could turn this around to your benefit to add some spice in your relationship.
Don't castrate him just yet, discuss what the motivation for doing it was.

OK, my first thought would be to kick his ***, lol. Then I would get a camera and take pictures of the sick bastard and email it to everyone on his list of friends including family members. Then I would change the password on the computer so that he can never get on-line again, lol. Now as far as divorce, was he looking at child pornography? If he's been a good husband other than this one incident I would send a threat of divorce and if he doesn't straighten up I would go through with it. Good luck!

so he was hiding his "chatting" from you? not good. some people (myself included) consider this to be cheating. i guess it depends on how you feel about it. i had this same thing happen to me - and that guy became an ex (just not soon enough); turns out he was hiding a LOT more than just the Internet obsessions.
it could be just that your husband wants to spice up his sex life (not yours - for that he would have come to you). if he is obsessed with the Internet side of it then it will be very hard for him to break the habits - but it is possible to do so... talk to him about it, tell him how you really feel & come to some sort of agreement/resolution between the two of you...

Ok, I'm putting a bit of a spin on this....
You never said that you were upset by it, just that you caught him. If your marriage is a solid one, than maybe you can incorporate this into your sex life? Maybe he's just an exhibitionist and hasn't known how to tell you...
You need to talk with him and find out the reason behind what he did...then you can make an informed decision of what step to take next.
Don't jump to conclusions until you have all of the facts, sweetie!

You were not looking for your husband when you were checking that web site. Seeing and doing it puts you guys in the same shoes. One thing is for sure...if you love someone you don't divorce them on a situation like this. According to me you guys should just figure out what needs to be done with your sexual life style.
