I wouldn't call him a genius, but he is a great film maker. He does however take too long to put out a new film, while a guy like Spielberg puts out at least one a year. Spielberg has ideas and inspiration coming out of his ears. Tarantino takes a bit longer.
I think Tarantino needs a bigger body of work before we can start labeling him genius.

particular!! Quentin is my prominent director! ok. Reservoir canines is my prominent action picture of all time, so i'm going initially that. My prominent scenes are the infamous Mr. Blonde/"caught interior the midsection With You"/ear-reducing scene. additionally, the scene interior the motor vehicle suited after Mr Orange has been shot is staggering because of the fact it shows what a super actor Tim Roth is. and of course, the tipping scene before everything of the action picture. Pulp Fiction. i like the Jack Rabbit slender dance scene. additionally, i like the total "it is a f*cking good milkshake." and "A royale with cheese." conversations. Oh! And the scene the place Mia dances to "lady, you would be a girl quickly". I won't talk approximately the different movies...yet! Haha i'm going to edit later. Quentin is an surprising director and writes surprising scripts and places at the same time surprising soundtracks. i like him! and that i can not WAIT until Inglourious Basterds!

not really way over blown or genius. some of his older movies were genius but the ones now are just...bleh!

His earlier works, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Genius!!!!!!
Now he seems to think to big, Kill Bill 1&2, way over the top and campy!!!!
He needs to simplify it again.

He is very unique and entertaining but his style is extremely overplayed. He needs to branch out more or take it to the next level.
On the personal side, I think he is uneducated and annoying. Have you seen his interviews? It's a trainwreck of twitches and rambling.
