I want to say yes, but I can't quite recall, nor have I found any confirmation. Ben Franklin, Jefferson, and John Adams all spent a fair amount of time there, though.

George Washington was the oldest child from his father's second marriage. Washington's parents Augustine Washington "Gus" (1693–April 12 1743) and Mary Ball Washington (1708–August 25 1789), were of British descent.
Washington was born and raised in Virginia. The death of Gus Washington left the family in difficult circumstances and prevented him from receiving an education in England as his older brothers Lawrence and Austin had. He also had to turn down an offer of becoming a midshipman in the Royal Navy arranged by Lawrence. George Washington would never travel to Europe.

no, Washington was not from Europe, he was born in Virginia. I don't believe he ever went to Europe, at least not for political reasons.
