Well, I think sex is overrated to the people that just want to see how many people they can sleep with. For the people that have relationships is far from being over rated. If you think about it in a relationship most of the time it's under rated.....

Good sex with the right person, at a time in your life when you are mature enough to handle it, is the greatest.
Sex, just for the act itself, is highly overrated!

Some people may be, and your relationships with them, but the actual act if it is pleasurable is not at all overrated if you do it right and figure out what you like etc...

people advertise sex on music, tv, dramas EVEN friends peer pressure each other on it.
no wounders there so much teenage pregananices, STDs etc...
