No the league isn't what it used to be, but the MLB is getting better. There seems to be a little more parody in the game these days as we see teams like the Tigers this year leading their division and making the run they are. I think MLB is on the up right now, but they still have a way to go. Unfortunately, baseball will never take back the top spot from the NFL unless the NFL screws up big time.

i say that mlb sucks and most people fake their injuries when they're doing bad. A short trip to the DL can make a lot of people forget how bad they really were. Minor Leaguers should move up to the mlb b/c u know most of them are probably not on steroids(or so we think). But all i know is that people in the minors try harder. Old-School baseball was when people played for the pride and to win the world series, but this new generation features superstars trying to as much money as they can make, and a trip to the DL when they have a little boo-boo on their juiced up arms. If today's MLB continues the way it is right now, there may not be America's pastime in the long run. But in the Short Run, GO YANKEES!!!!

Even if someone is on steroids it takes a lot to do what some of these players can do. Steroids isn't all baseball is. It takes talent to be able to do some of these plays. Not all pictures are bad at bat. Hmmmm....my favorite Carlos Zambrano just recently hit a 3 run home run and several others. Its not what it use to be but its still worth the sport.

I still love baseball although the old school game was much better. I liked it better when you didn't hear about steroid cheater's and pitchers had to bat. I also liked it better when there wasn't as many teams and wildcards and stuff. I hate lack of hustle in any player. I liked it better when players didn't wear batting gloves and would scoop dirt on their palms fo a better batting grip and when they didn't admire their homeruns like today which only shows up the pitcher. I will always love the game but the old school way was a better brand of baseball and I miss it!

Every sport changes with time so get over the fact that it isn't what it used to be. What YOU think baseball was isn't what it was either. Did you watch games where no African American player played on the same field as a white player? Did you watch a best of 9 World Series?

Umm have you ever heard of a spit ball? Those were banned because it was deemed cheating, and as for steroids, they would have used them if they had them. Mickey Mantle all time schmuck for the New York Yankees, injected an unknown substance into his thigh to help himself. Don't make fun of baseball unless you know anything about it. I love the MLB and everything about it, except for the yankees!

I will always love baseball, not all of the players are on the juice. I agree that some are and they ruin it for the ones that are not and the avid fan. It's a big let down to learn that these "role models" are not only cheating but promoting a bad item that can be fatal to kids who look up to them.

Baseball has really taken a hit. It's really sad, especially since they were really recovering from their strike years ago. It is nice to see a team like the Detroit Tigers have the #1 record in the league! (Can you tell I'm a Tigers fan!?) See once you implement the dire drug penalties...The Tigers never really sucked...they were just being cheated!

I agree with a lot of that but it is still a fun game to watch.I just hope that they get the whole steroid thing under control so it kind of cleans up the game some what.

No sport is what it used to be. I like the old school baseball. But you still have to respect the clean athletes.
