Although you asked in regards to the UK, you also just described the US.

I only stopped here to ask how was your nap, Rip Van?

Obviously, you were sleeping while the media was co-opted.

The final proof that the media had been ultimately co-opted (for me) was when The New York Times ran parrot pieces on the Iraq War.

All hail Big Brother.

I often think to myself that when I use certain terms while using electronic mediums, that I just added to some poor low end intel data schmuck's task load.

Al qaida. Bush. Blair. Backpack.

That should do it. Now I'll be flagged for sure.

I'm reminded of the George Carlin monologue about the last guy on earth. (Meaning the lowest, poorest, least, etc, not the literal last survivor. Just this guy is so down and out nobody is worse off then he is.) In the monologue, Carlins supposes what if the "last guy" found a dime and used it to call the FBI (or CIA)? They'd immediately begin a file on him, because if he was the last guy, how did he get a dime...and on it goes until the guy has international intel status, well you catch the drift...)

Ummm the UK doesnt lock people up without trial unless they are remanded in custody becuase they are deemed an exceptional threat to society. But their trial will be held promptly. It just wouldnt happen, the courts wouldnt allow it, and neither would the EU, as it breaches the European convention of Human Rights. Anti terrorist laws used to protect the country against people that intelligence deems to be potentially dangerous. Everybody has the right to appeal. Leave to appeal is only granted by the Director of Public prosecutions (in the criminal division) and Attorney general (i think, in civil) We have legal aid for individuals being sued by corporations so they can have representation. The overriding objective of the civil courts is essentially to ensure a fair trial, and 'equality in arms' (make sure all are on equal footing as best as possible) Rights are not eroded, in fact they are probably more prominant than ever before. All that you have suggested is complete rubbish

I agree with your definition of most the symptoms, but I am staggared beyond belief that you describe it as a right wing government. It is, in fact, a left wing radical, if not revolutionary party. The media, particularly the television media, are not objecting because they are aiding and abetting the government. If it was a right wing government, why are the BNP gaining in popularity?
Moreover, no right wing party would think of selling the country into europe, or reforming so many of the old institutions, eg. House of Lords.

They have expanded the public sector considerably, no right wing party would do that. You mention that they have locked people up without trial, isn't that the USA. In Britain they have never been softer on crime, it has been in all the press in recent times. Workers have never had more rights following our embracing of the human rights act.You mention the police not responding to crimes, but that is not as a result of right wing influences but left wing influences. Try commiting one of the PC crimes eg. racism and sexism and your feet won't touch.

The goverment is an umbrella organisation embracing all the usual left wing crackpots eg. feminists, anti capitalists, green loby, marxists, the pc brigade, pro europeans etc.

You could write for ever about this subject and I, like you,am critical about this government, but please don't think of them as right wing. Think of them as a left wing totalitarian government that wants to control everything you do.

You could hardly call the government right wing... If anything their too liberal. Legislation and meddling mean that criminals are not punished properly and don't receive fitting prison sentences, authorities are more interested in protecting the rights of wrong doers than their victims. Take a look in the news recently especially with regards to the cases involving child sex offenders and tell me again they're too right wing. Human rights laws being twisted by lawyers to settle petty arguments or so called infringement's to make someone quick money.
Maybe you ought to take another look!

Do you even know what a right winged neo-fascist dictatorship means? I would suggest you look it up and get the correct definition. The UK is hardly fascists and are definatly not a dictatorship either.

Do you mean they've finally mustered up the collective moral courage to toss the 3rd world freeloaders out on their butts?!?!!
More power to em, I say! LOL GB/UK/whatever has long been a sob-story socialist nightmare, good show on em finally deciding to do things more constructively...giving handouts encourages parasitism, not independence, and independence is every bit as much important to the UK as it is to the USA, and any other nation that doesn't have its' head firmly wedged up its' ....

Because that is the way that your Country is swinging to, the Ultra-Right.

When you vote people in office and they are of that nature, it only seves that they will continue on Party lines, and the way they vote in the first place. The Media must be controlled by those types, and they appluad the fact that its finally swinging to thier way of thinking.

I wish you well..
