We work for a "Board", they have used rotten, selfserving tactics to get rid of our office and staff....any ideas would and will be appreciated.

Ugh ... I'm sorry you're office is going through something so dirty.

I've been in situations where I've felt totally alone having to fight dirty politics. When I look back on 'what i could have done differently,' one major thing comes to mind: FIND ALLIES.

You can't fight alone. You've got to have a group of supporters. Even countries have armies. Your staff can rally, and garner support from outside offices or groups, and through the power of numbers, can fight for change.

Don't let discouragement reduce you towards 'dirty politics' of your own. This is hard. When I was going through my own crisis, I got a lot of advice to "sling some dirt of your own," but I never did. I'm glad I didn't. It reduces you and you end up losing self-respect.

Find at least one ally who is in a position above you. If you can find some higher administrative support, you'll be in a much better position to advocate for change.

Good luck! Hang in there.

I've been following politics closely for about 20 years now and I'm saddened to give you my answer. The unfortunate truth is that to successfully fight and defeat dirty politics, you have to counter with back with dirty politics.

I think the democratic party is just now waking up to this fact btw.

Even the smallest things work. For example when the Bush administration decided to start calling 'global warming' climate change instead.

Just as in US governmental politics, if enough people are rising up against those who are being "dirty", those in power will follow along.
