The greatest baseball player of all time is the immortal Sultan of Swat, the Mighty Bambino Babe Ruth. 714 homeruns in 2503 games .342 lifetime batting average .690 lifetime slugging average 15 world series homeruns and 94 lifetime victories as a pitcher. I'll stack those numbers against anyone.

Babe Ruth...Far and away the best. His numbers are comparable to teams of his time, not other players. Then throw in the fact he has almost 100 wins as a pitcher. Hands down the best.

Ruth. Enough said about his offense. Neither Mays, nor Williams, nor even Bonds could pitch like Ruth. 714 HRs, 94 -46 W/L record 2.77 ERA. Ridiculous.

MY CHOICE WOULD BE BABE RUTH. NOT ONLY WAS HE HITTING MORE HOME RUNS IN A YEAR THAN MOST TEAMS AT THAT TIME,BUT HE WAS HITTING THEM OFF OF BETTER PITCHERS. NOWADAYS STARTING PITCHERS DO NOT GO THE DISTANCE. YOU HAVE SET UP,CLOSERS,PITCHERS FOR LEFT HANDED BATTERS AND PITCHERS FOR RIGHT HANDED BATTERS, BY THE WAY,RUTH HAD SEVERAL PITCHING RECORDS IN THE WORLD SERIES NO LESS. CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT HE WOULD WITH THE PRESENT DAY PITCHING?

man bonds is great, but u gotta go with RICKEY HENDERSON!!!!!!!
i mean seriously, can u steal anymore bases????? 1406, i mean come on cut that in half and hes still 10th overall, take the difference between him and 2nd and your still in the top 50, can any1 ever break that record. but he didnt just steal bases he was a good hitter, hes the leader in runs scored, he still hit a good many homers and he was the best leadoff hitter ever. how can u get better than that

Gotta go with Ruth. The man was just amazing, especially considering his lifestyle.
