No where else in the hard disk even when you delete and go to recycle bin, only a few link files create a link to these files to a folder called "recycle bin" . Only when you 'empty' the recycle bin, then the memory location where you had earlier stored gets sort of formatted and is available to the operating system to re-write a new file/data in that location.

Your files never get deleted, just marked to be written over by new files. If you want your files to be deleted you need a program that will write over the specific files you choose. BC Wipe is a good program.

They dont go anywhere. They are still on the hard drive waiting to be saved over. The only thing that is deleted is the actual 'link' that once connected a folder or file to the actual data.

Nowhere unless you dump it...then they technically stay in that location unless that portion of the drive is written over again...that is how we recover "deleted" information during a search warrant, we reconstruct that portion of the drive.
