Is the brain the source of the voices in the head? If so, then dying is like turning off the TV, heaven and hell are earthly things, and we are immortal til the day we die. (Sounds good)

Or is the brain the antenna through which the soul communicates? If so, then read Dante's inferno and try to tame that little voice within.

In this uncertain quantum world, it's best to be prepared for any possibility.

It is reassuring to have a quiet mind. On the other hand, it would suck to be re-incarnated as an industry farm pig. Got faith?

Well your dead physically. Your soul will hang around for a couple days (close to your body) until the big guy makes his judgement. From that decision your either moving on up or you will spend some time in purgatory depending on how many chocolate bars you've eaten.

the flesh will rot off your bones leaving a skeleton in a box in the ground
that's about it unless your looking for a hypothetical answer .and that would be what ever you believe will happen weather it is life after death or your sole moves on to a higher state or you go to heaven or hell .no one can answer because no one knows what happens when we die for sure except what happens to the remains and that is it rots and turns in to dust

the same thing will happen to us as to any other animal. we'll decompose and the chemicals we're composed of will be recycled into the environment. unless your family chooses to incinerate you, in which case most of you will be released into the air, leaving just the ashes, which probably makes pretty good fertilizer.
the only immortality is the part of you remembered in the hearts and minds of those surviving and passing down to subsequent generations.

They wrap you up in a big white sheet from your head down to your feet. They put you in a big black box and cover you up with dirt and rocks. All goes well for about a week, then your coffin begins to leak. The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out, the worms play pinnacle on your snout. They eat your eyes, they eat your nose, they eat the jelly between your toes. Then a big green worm with rollilng eyes, crawls in your stomach and out your eyes. Your stomach turns a slimy green, and pus pours out like whipping cream. You spread it on a slice of bread and that's what you eat when you are dead.

Physically: your body decomposes, your bones last taking centuries sometimes to fully rot away.

After Life: I wish we could find a way to prove it, but I cant answer that truthfully.

When they put you in the ground, you have no why of knowing what's going on around you.Your spirit is separated from your body. And when judgement day comes then that's when you know where you will spend eternity.

I think that my body will be done as I request, but my soul will be freed from it. I have no idea where I'll end up, but I sure hope I can lurk around on Earth for awhile!
