This is business. In Sim Lim, it is possible to get a good price product. In Lucky Plaza, don't try your luck. It is tourist belt.

While shopping in Sim Lim, if you spot an item of your choice, watch out for the local to ask for the price, and be observant, and you will know the right price.

However, Funan IT mall products are reasonable price. Good shopping experience too.

Enjoy your stay in Singapore

Enjoy shopping.

Lucky plaza caters to the tourist unless u know the shop owner. Sim Lim can be cut throat too so do your research. Best to go to a place where the prices are on the product. Know which are the shops which has been black listed ..that way, u know which to avoid....

competition and different means of supply.

Sometimes it's just a means to get you interested in buying from the shops and when you say you'll take the product, they might just tell you that there is a service charge, a gst and maybe a charge for credit card charges that haven't been added to the prices.

it also depends on where they get the product.. some places parallel import from other countries, and some goods are "for export only" models...

especially goods like cameras and electronics, they may be the same brand but are assembles/made from different countries...

eg. Kit Kat from Malaysia is cheaper but tastes watered down compared to Kit Kat's from the UK which tastes richer. (Yes the supermarkets sell both types)...

It is a simple matter of profit. If you buy high, they get a higher commission from the sale. Son it is always to know what is the base price and work your way to a bargain, rather than use their price.

If it were your shop, wouldn't you try to get the best profit from each sale too?
