Drinking the milk of cows and goats has been practiced since ancient times. I would expect it began shortly after man began domesticating these animals. It would seem logical as milk is obviously a source of nutrients for the offspring of the cow or goat and ancient society did not have the same taboos we are encumbered with today.

Originally the farmers noticed cow underlings were getting huge based on drinking their mother's milk. When the famine hit, they really didn't have any choice and started drinking the milk the cow supplied them, and noticed it was very fulfilling and nutritious..

That doesn't bother me as much as the person who was walking down the beach, saw an oyster and said,"boy that looks good, I think I'll eat it and I'm not going to cook it." Don't get me wrong, I like oysters, but who ate the first one?
