In a very real sense, the U.N. is responsible for the United States having to go to war with Iraq.

France, Germany, and Russia were getting bribed by Saddam Hussein though big payments siphoned from the Oil For Food program. This is why these three countries were so against going to war. They didn't want the cash flow to stop.

So, once again the UN Screwed us!

The UN doesn't screw the US....the US screws itself by saying it believes in the ideals embodied by the UN yet then goes and does what it wants out of sheer self-interest/profit and thereby justly earning the hate and disrespect of the rest of the world. That's like saying the schoolyard bully is getting screwed by the little defenseless kids he picks on when they complain about their arms being broken. Maybe when the US wants peace instead of world domination, then things will be different.

As for the guy answering above me, you *are* aware that all of Saddam's WMD were given to him by the USA, right? That it was the USA that overthrew Iraq's rightful rulers to install Saddam as a dictator puppet in the first place? How quickly some forget the truth.

As long as the UN goes along with everything we, the USA, wants then we just loveee the UN. As soon as the UN disagrees, oh bring out the banners and protest signs that the UN is going to hell in a handbasket of corruption.

are you serious??? the un is whats keeping world war 3 from happening! the UN has done alot for the world, ex: the declaration of human rights, and it was the UN that helped get rid of apartheid in South Africa. anyway the un told the US not to go into iraq cause they knew there were no "wmd's" there, after sending it those weapon inspectors.
