there is a theory existing right now, which is some what prooven, where there lays another demention in which infinit giant blob looking things float around. when 2 of these things collide it is said to of caused a force so strong that inside the blob like thing is created a big bang which matter from these infinit masses is condensed and reformed into planets and suns and so on, this means that everything in this universe is basicaly inside one of those things. so theorticaly, before the big bang of them colliding, there should of existed nothing but darkness inside the blob, and outside would be nothing but infinit universes being created and being destroyed, every second.

it is a big theory that will elude us for the generations to come unless we go to a blackhole and travel through the ring of singularity and travel back in time and witness the big cosmic event!. Maybe it all began with super string theory? a string itself was a string then some kind of energy that is really massive and began to expand the string then at some point, the string exploded into different dimensions (1, 2, 3 and 4)? we never know the real answer. the combination of theories are good place to extroplate the idea of the existence of the universe.

There was the universe before us that was crunched up by the Big Crunch into a small point...then the Big Bang...and soon the Big Crunch will come again to us and it will start all over again.

GOD... did you scream? LOL it really is a few style of massive secret. because that we are able to,t see in the previous the tremendous bang in our telescope. In time perchance we are able to understand the starting up of the universe. Hell perchance we will locate out that it replaced into no longer quite a starting up yet in reality a continuation of a few thing else completely.

the universe with all its energy and mass existed as a singularity, a point without dimensions. the big bang simply inflated all of this with mayn reactions occuring and leading the state that is is in now.

This isn't my field of expertise, but I believe it has been postulated that, before the big bang, everything in the universe was contained in a single, dimensionless point of infinite energy, kind of like a singularity in a black hole. (This is a tough one to get your head around, I know.) I don't believe we know what made that point expand to form our universe.

Yes, the space (and time) of our universe began its expansion at the time of the big bang.
