Why Not! I have seen people with the attitude that they are a failure, they can't do this or that and they were right. It's half attitude. My son grew from what I just wrote to a wonderful husband and father and in his children's eye's is a great man & mine to. I believe we attract positive or negative energy depending on how we think and act. So think positve, great thoughts; hold your head up high and smile at everyone you meet & see yourself as the best thing you can imagine and then live your life in that direction. Go out and start today and live for your future Mr. President or whatever you dream of becoming.
It is not what we do that defines us but how we treat those around us. I don't know who wrote this quote but it is as true today as when it was written many years ago.

Yes, I believe that a person can honestly determine their own future to some degree. We are what we believe we are and it is what we 'say' that takes affect when it comes from our mouths. I believe that there are certain laws in place (spiritual and natural) and your 'saying' what you want for yourself can come to pass. If you surround a person with positive thinking and doing people - encouraging them and putting them in places where they can flourish and grow - they can become what they say. I also believe that if a person has made a determination about their lives and purposed in their hearts what they want in life and may be surrounded with negative people, 'they' can still determine their outcome. You are what you say you are. Even people in the poorest homes and environmental conditions can be successful in their lives. I believe we are all destined for some greatness in the future, but many people are short-stopped because of other people and their negativity. Even a racist/segregated society could not stop Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in his quest for all men to see equality. And I believe he was destined for greatness. So, big or small, whatever your desire, you have to write your vision and run with it, don't give up, because your vision will not tary. It will come to pass.

Delusions of grandeur. People will think all kinds of things about themselves to make themselves feel good about themselves. Everyone must have a positive attitude about themselves in order to succeed, but an inflated ego leads to arrogance. People will often set themselves up for a traumatic fall when their dreams do not come true. No one knows for sure what his/her future is going to be EXACTLY. Those that obtain greatness and say that they always knew that they would are speaking after the fact. Only God knows for sure what any of us will achieve. A person can commune with God and gain guidance towards what he believes his ultimate position in life is to be, it is still up to God to make the decision. A person can hit the nail right on the head and get it right the first time, or they can miss by a country mile. Trusting God is the key to any level of success in this life.

Yeah. If they are delusional.
Luck plays a huge part in people's future. There is no such thing as "destiny". We shape our own future based on opportunity and calculated action.
By the way - find that God-fearing bible-banger that answered before me and pimp-slap her. What an idiot.

If you don't have any dreams & things to aspire to then what is the point in life? People who believe they have the ability to be great are the ones who will make it as they will do what they have to in order to get there.

It is simply a phychological issue. You can phic yourself up and that will fire your effort at attaining the sucess desirous for greatness.
However, no one can with certainty assume that he will achieve greatness. this is the exclusive preserve of Allaah.
Even if a soothsayer of note decree that.

Most definately.. I am fearfully and wonderfully made and there is nothing that can seperate me from the love of God..that's greatness in itself! Then on top of that, some people just have major drives in them, and they seek to accomplish that which their heart is set on...gotta love it!

A person can truly believe whatever they want to believe. That doesn't necessarily make it so.
