Dolphins are very sensitive to pregnancy and they will focus on pregnant women, often to the exclusion of others in the group. Therefore, many dolphin "tours" will not allow pregnant women to swim with the dolphins because it can cause her companions to feel like they have been "cheated" due to lack of attention.

There are some tours designed exclusively for pregnant women though, see the link below!

It is certainly NOT the "germs in the water". Any nurse worth a darn would know that there is NO danger swimming in ocean waters to any pregnant woman whose membranes are intact!

Dolphins some times get overly excited by human touch and they can get rough.

Because pregnant women aren't aloud to do anything that might be fun. It sucks, but it seems to be true once you think about it.

It might be because if they have enough force with their nose and swim past you and bump your stomach it could hurt or kill the baby. Hope I helped!
