Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. I believe in it's content however the beauty of it all is the mystery, is it real or not. The simple fact that no other book has had an effect on the world as the Bible speaks for itself. Most published, most bought, and is the only book besides the telephone book that is guaranteed to be in a hotel or hospital.

No, it is not a made up book, but the Old Testament is an abridgement(shortened version) of a more ancient text called the Epic of Gilgamesh! This was recovered from the library of AshurBanipal! Most of the Old Testament is written in Assyrian, Persian Chaldee and Egyptian with very little Hebrew language. The Old Testament wasn't written down until 500-550 B>C. by Ezra and Jeremiah. It wasn't combined and the language refined for understanding until 70AD by Philo of Alexandria. The New Testament wasn't started untill 60-100 A>D> and was literally changed by the early Bishops or Bicops of the Roman Church.Paul never knew Jesus and had a vision of him on the road to Damascus and his theology was a mixture of Jewish Mysticism and Gnostic. The books of Hebrews and Ephesians are easier for a Rabbi to understand than a current day minister. Two rules apply to life: The Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. The second is love thy neighbor as thyself with respect! You c an't go wrong with these two applications to your life and it certainly will go a long way in your lifetime.A recent book called Rabbi Jesus will explain, just what Jesus was teaching his Diciples-Initiates.

Some religions take the Bible literally. Some others believe that the Bible was made of a bunch of different stories that have a moral teaching us how to live.

Anything is possible. But logically how many made up books do you know of that have been criticized time and time again, burned, discredited, and yet survive and continue to be read and bought by a good percentage of the world
