Those types of things have been going on for many, many years and countless people have either spoke about or wrote about it. I find that most people don't just pull stuff out of the air, they have to get these stories from somewhere. I believe the movie is about 90% true, I believe some of it is Hollywood action to keep the movie goer entertained. Good question and a very good movie indeed.

Some of the themes in it (racism, sexual misconduct by police officers, etc) are very real things that happen. Are the different stories real? I would say now.

Very true and resonates with many minorities, poor, the disadvantaged. What goes around comes around and everyone has they own prejudices against their own group or race and against others.
