What you have is yourself and dignity no one can take that away from you. Materialist ppl depend on what they have. If everything was taken from me right now I would still be the person that I was with the gifts God showered me with.

i do not think any worldly possessions make a man.we arrive in this world totally naked, and when we finally depart from this world, we can not carry any thing with us, every thing that was always so dear and precious to us during our life time, is left behind. in all the religions, there is a quest for finding the purpose why we are born, and importance of achieving peace of mind, detachment from worldly things, like a lotus leaf, which is in water, but the water does not stay on that. i think what we are, is not because what we have, because the material things will not stay for ever. it's the person's soul, his existence, his individuality, which makes him what he is. so even if every thing is gone, he is still there, he can create whatever, if he wants to. it's not the end of the world. we have to seek the answer from our inner self.

Are you for real? What I have is what I am? No way Jose...What I am is a child of God. Things do not determine what a person is. The love and service given and received within all relationships is a major element that determines what I am.

Things come and they go.....and I am sure for some..they go with them and that is a shame.

Free yourself

If a person seriously defines themselves by their possessions, they are in trouble. The best thing that could happen is for them to lose their material possessions with the hope that they will discover their true value.

you can never be what you have although you may think/feel that way its nothing more than a feeling of inadequacy or simply put keeping up with the JONES'. WHAT you are is purely WHO you are

Who I am is not determined by what I have, because I have indeed, had nothing, and was not nothing because I had nothing. I am who I am because of what I think, and no one can ever take that away from me!

I'm not what I have but who I am and how I am made. And it is certain none of us will carry anything out of this life when we go!
