Have you tried a cool mist steamer or Vicks Vaporub? What does the doctor say? Some allergies show up early.

Keep in mind that children this young still have ears that are growing and may drain into his throat. Are you finding he is rubbing at his ears?

Keep track of this kind of behavior (and others) so you can describe to the doctor what is going on.

This child is not verbal enough to tell you what is going on, so you have to watch for clues.

Good luck!

Take him/her to the doctor to find out the cause of the cough....allergies or viral.
Either way the the drainage when he/she is lying flat is probably causing the cough. Benadryl is helpful with allergies, but may need other meds. Does your baby have a temp also?...Definitely take to the doc!!!

it sounds like he has developed reflux. He will need to go to the doctor as this can cause serious problems as pneumonia, esophagitis ( irritated from throat to stamach ) Until you get him in, try lying him on a wedge or with his head up higher than his bottom. also try not to let him lay down with a real full tummy.

take him to a doctor now, dont wait untill it gets worse. if you have to wait for an appt. try sitting in the bathroom with the hot water running and the steam filling the room, this should help loosen the congestion for now untill you can get to a doctor, get off the computer and book an appt

try propping up one end of the crib....do NOT use pillows....they can cause suffocation in small children....but have the asthma and brochitis things checked out....and if you do smoke...start smoking outside...have all people in your house who smoke..smoke outside...that is not healthy for a child...and no caffine....and limit the dairy products too...and if you did smoke in the houes use lysol basin and tub and tile cleaner and literally dust mop your walls with it and new dust mop.....wait until you see the dirt that comes off of your walls....but most of all consult your doctor....and oh they now have infant vicks vapor rub....try rubbing a little on his chest at night....see if that helps....
