M-W dictionary says:
Etymology: Middle English cou, from Old English cu; akin to Old High German kuo cow, Latin bos head of cattle, Greek bous, Sanskrit go

AKA, not Adam, but rather society that existed in England in the Middle Ages. Unless, of course, Adam was actually a peasant in the middle ages working on a manor, which I suppose could be called the Garden of Eden, despite that little trifle of a plague, famine, etc.

Pretty much, etymology makes the explanation of Adam naming all the animals null and void. If someone prefers, however, to stick with that explanation, they must also believe that the Romans didn't exist, or that they spoke English rather than Latin, as well as the Greeks, the Germans, the French, etc., all spoke English, because, obviously, they all called cows "cows" in English, because Adam named the cow "cow," which is the English word for cow.

Therefore, since it was spoken by the first man and woman that ever existed, and by God himself, English is naturally the universal language, so we should force all the heretic non-English-speaking people of the world to learn English.

Obviously. *seethes*

I'm in a sarcastic/cynical mood today.

To get to the answer you should first find out where the cows lived at the beginning. I tend to agree that it was Adam who named them cows.

I believe Adam named the cow when God sent all the animals he created before Adam to be named. Not sure why he chose the name "cow" though.

we have to call everything something.... even the person who named a cow a cow was named something...... but if you hurt yourself and ask somebody to call you an ambulance they might literally call you an ambulance by shouting "you are an ambulance"!!!!!
